The pelican peak zip line in St Maarten gives incredible views of Philipsburg’s Great Bay. Philipsburg is the capital town of St Maarten. It’s home to the renowned Sonesta Great Bay Beach Resort, Casino, and Spa. After your trip down the zip line, you can spend your time in the capital town exploring all the fantastic shops or dining at any one of the decadent restaurants. Pelican Peak itself is located right near the St Maarten cruise port. It’s extremely easy to reach and very convenient for the cruise ship tourists to visit as soon as they step off their ship! In fact, the open air troop waits right at the ship’s dock to pick excited passengers up and deliver them to the peak.
The zip line is an environmentally friendly and safe adventure thrill that doesn’t require any past experience, official training, or special equipment that you have to buy beforehand. It’s an all-inclusive experience. Visitors will first get a safety orientation before heading up the peak. What should you wear and bring with you?
It is recommended that visitors wear pants, as the harness might make shorts ride up due to its slight tightness. However, don’t worry! Riders often say that zip line harnesses are actually quite comfortable! You should also wear shoes that can be fastened tightly so you don’t lose them during the ride! Another few good things to consider bringing are a small bag, sunscreen, and bug spray. Typically, ziplines require riders to be able to keep their hands free. So, anything you have with you has to be attached to you, not held. It’s only for the sake of maximum enjoyment! Okay, and maybe it helps a little bit with ensuring that the experience is safe, too. Don’t forget a camera!
